Three days lets you see the old centre without rushing: one day for Baixa and the tiles, one for Ribeira, the bridge and the port cellars, and one for the sea at Foz and Serralves – or a Douro Valley day trip. Book Lello and your cellar tour first.
Day 1
Baixa, tiles & towers
Morning
São Bento Station, then Capela das Almas and breakfast at Bolhão Market (Mon–Sat).
Afternoon
Livraria Lello (booked slot), the Carmo tiles and the Clérigos Tower.
Evening
Dinner in Baixa, then a walk down Avenida dos Aliados.
Tip: Book Lello for the first slot of the day and swap the morning around if needed.
Day 2
Ribeira, the bridge & Gaia
Morning
The Sé and its terrace, then down through the alleys to Ribeira.
Afternoon
Palácio da Bolsa tour, then cross the bridge to a port cellar in Gaia.
Evening
Sunset at Jardim do Morro, then back over the bridge for dinner.
Tip: Take the Guindais funicular or the cable car in Gaia to skip the steepest climbs.
Day 3
Serralves & the sea
Morning
Serralves museum and park.
Afternoon
Walk to Foz do Douro and along the seafront.
Evening
Historic tram line 1 back towards the centre, then a last francesinha.
Tip: Prefer the countryside? Swap this day for a Douro Valley trip.

Frequently asked questions
Is 3 days enough for Porto?
3 days covers the big highlights at a comfortable pace if you group sights by area, as in this plan. Add a day if you want a day trip or more museum time.
What should I book in advance?
Anything with timed entry: Livraria Lello, Clérigos Tower, Ribeira riverside, Port wine cellars in Gaia. Check the official sites for current prices and release dates.
Can I change the order of the days?
Yes. Each day is built around one area, so you can swap whole days around, for example to put an indoor museum day on a rainy day.
